I feel stupid to ask this, but since I'm keeping my site a secret from those who know me personally, I need a favor:

Would anyone mind viewing my site to let me know how it looks with your computer's specifications?

As of now, I've only viewed it with:

Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0/Netscape Navigator 7.2
1024 x 768

I know that it displays disgracefully using Navigator. I'm still working on my coding to resolve that (it either looks great in Explorer or Navigator... having trouble pleasing both).

So, if anyone wouldn't mind taking a look, letting me know if there are any problems with it, and what platform, browser, and resolution you viewed it with -- I'd really appreciate it!

How to D/L my album?

I am almost ready to do a complete revamp of my angelfire album. Before I actually do, I want to d/l several of the jpg files now in the album for inclusion in the new album. It'd even be nice to d/l the entire album to be able to sort through it.

Many of the original image files u/l'd to the album are no longer available. To replace them, I'd need to do some extensive PS image work to ready them for web use. I have not been able to figure out how to do the d/L with an FTP client yet. I want to d/l the actual unopened files.

So, my question:
How can I d/l some or all of the files in my album to my computer in order to save and rework them?

I was fustrated to begin with, but now I am a little better. What does it take to get an imaged load on the site where it will work. what is the point of the little white box with the red "X" in the middle if the picture is just lost in the trasaction. Can some help poor little 'ole me? I think my page is really basic and I don't think I asking 4 a lot...

Right now if you want to offer email service to your sites visitors, FORGET IT! We all need to band together and request Angelfire allow modification of our MX records, which we pay for. (Dont let em get by on you get a "free" domain name, you pay for the package) My website is becoming more and more advanced and Angelfire is restricting growth. I guesse I could move, but what a pain. I created my ideal start up page in Microsoft word and saved the file as an html. How can I get that file and all the links in that file to upload as a web page. I can find any step by step instructions and I am a little fustrated. Can someone please help? :( Thanks

Problems with server?

For a few days now my blog hasn't been viewable. It says server error or can't find server. I tried viewing other peoples blogs and they don't show up either. Is Angelfire server down right now? or is it my computer. I tired restarting my computer but still no luck.

Like the post below I have my files uploaded and all the HTML is correct. When I go to view the pages some of my images do not show up. However, if I right click and hit show picture it pops right up. This happens on random pictures/buttons even on my own computer. How can I fix this problem? I do not think the picture files are big..the pages are each 4-5k.

Ok so i know most people have had this problem and ive read all the faq's and solutions but nothing is working. I've uploaded all my pictures (jpegs) and the html is correct and i uploaded them in my webshell into the images directory and when i view the webpage everything is fine, the pics are there and the music but when everyone outside my computer tries to view it, it doesnt work, whats wrong?

I have been making html websites for about 3 years now and I can't figure this out. All of my html is correct as far as I can tell but when I click on two of my links on my index page both of the pages to the links act as if they are loading but then they stop. Then starting from the bottom of the page I start getting what looks like binary coding and it continues to progress up the page until it covers it. My brother is a computer programer and I asked him about it. He thinks there is something going on with the angelfire server but I am not sure. If anyone knows what is going on and can tell me how to fix this problem please email me at sweetkschick@earthlink.net or just post an answer on here for me. Thanks. Take care.

this morning i'm not able to access my traffic report under "my account." it's a neon account, and i haven't had this problem before. any ideas?

All of the sudden my site is opening a search window along side the left of my page. I can close it, but it is way more irritating than the pop ups that used to come w/ the site. I have no idea how these started or if I can make them quit. Is this something I did, or is it Angelfire??? Anyone else having this problem?

On our own
I think were on our own here. I wish they had a board where someone who knew what was going would actually answer. These are not life threatening problems but annoying ones nonetheless. I am not so sure I would pay for a piece of this server when it is so hard to get through to anyone. I think I will look for a more personable company to handle my web needs.

I'd like to be able to link to sections of my document. I can create the successfully create the HTML fragment using (a name = "blah") but then when I go to link to ( a href="http://www.yaddayadda.com/stuff.html#blah ) I start having problems. Any thoughts?

I've been thinking about going ahead and upgrading my El Cheapo account to one of Angelfire's paid plans. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on whether or not this is worth my while?

I have had my webpage for 5 yrs now, and I have never had any problems, but all of a sudden last week without me altering any of my code it suddenly stopped working. The problem is related to the two frames that I have. I have a left frame which is my menu and a right frame. All of my outside links are directed to open in new window - like this [a href= "whatever" target='new']whatever[/a] (with triangle brackets rather than square of course). This worked up until last week, now it will only work for a few of the links, it will actually only work for the angelfire ones, everything else opens in the current window. It is very annoying, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Or experiencing the same problem? Some suggestions I have had is to change target='new'to target='_blank'. This does not help. ANother suggestion I had is that frames are so old now that they don't work anymore and I should use a style sheet instead, but I can't see this to be the case.

The links that don't work are all the ones under links (left hand frame) that are not angelfire pages. They all open in the left frame


Also does anyone know how to email angelfire??

I've used HTML for a long time and have had no problem with it before as a FREE member, but recently I tried linking with the [a href=link]link text[/a] ([] replacing <> so you can see what coding I'm using) tag and I always get redirected to an Angelfire error page that says "Angelfire does not allow the downloading of certain files to protect visitors from viruses." Can anyone tell me what the problem is here?

Upgrading Account

I've been trying to update my Angelfire account. I get a message screen saying:

"Thank you, ms/joyceanderson! You have successfully changed your Angelfire account. Activate your account and start building!"

but my account still shows up as "free" in my profile, and I still have those pesky ads. I hope I don't get charged the upgrade fee a million times. When will it be done? Thanks for all your help!
