Pop Up's???

All of the sudden my site is opening a search window along side the left of my page. I can close it, but it is way more irritating than the pop ups that used to come w/ the site. I have no idea how these started or if I can make them quit. Is this something I did, or is it Angelfire??? Anyone else having this problem?

On our own
I think were on our own here. I wish they had a board where someone who knew what was going would actually answer. These are not life threatening problems but annoying ones nonetheless. I am not so sure I would pay for a piece of this server when it is so hard to get through to anyone. I think I will look for a more personable company to handle my web needs.

I'd like to be able to link to sections of my document. I can create the successfully create the HTML fragment using (a name = "blah") but then when I go to link to ( a href="http://www.yaddayadda.com/stuff.html#blah ) I start having problems. Any thoughts?

I've been thinking about going ahead and upgrading my El Cheapo account to one of Angelfire's paid plans. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on whether or not this is worth my while?

It's just a blog... is it worth the money? Or would anyone recommend any other host?

Hello,
I have had my webpage for 5 yrs now, and I have never had any problems, but all of a sudden last week without me altering any of my code it suddenly stopped working. The problem is related to the two frames that I have. I have a left frame which is my menu and a right frame. All of my outside links are directed to open in new window - like this [a href= "whatever" target='new']whatever[/a] (with triangle brackets rather than square of course). This worked up until last week, now it will only work for a few of the links, it will actually only work for the angelfire ones, everything else opens in the current window. It is very annoying, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Or experiencing the same problem? Some suggestions I have had is to change target='new'to target='_blank'. This does not help. ANother suggestion I had is that frames are so old now that they don't work anymore and I should use a style sheet instead, but I can't see this to be the case.

The links that don't work are all the ones under links (left hand frame) that are not angelfire pages. They all open in the left frame


Also does anyone know how to email angelfire??

I've used HTML for a long time and have had no problem with it before as a FREE member, but recently I tried linking with the [a href=link]link text[/a] ([] replacing <> so you can see what coding I'm using) tag and I always get redirected to an Angelfire error page that says "Angelfire does not allow the downloading of certain files to protect visitors from viruses." Can anyone tell me what the problem is here?

I've been trying to update my Angelfire account. I get a message screen saying:

"Thank you, ms/joyceanderson! You have successfully changed your Angelfire account. Activate your account and start building!"

but my account still shows up as "free" in my profile, and I still have those pesky ads. I hope I don't get charged the upgrade fee a million times. When will it be done? Thanks for all your help!

I am having trouble with linking an img from my angelire website. It is a jpg img but I only get the small " this image is hosted by angelfire.com" picture, They used to work fine until recently.I know the links are correct and the names of the files are correct. Any ideas on this? I was thinking maybe for some reason they do not allow you to link images from your webspace unless you have an upgraded account. I hope this is not the case.

I have a Digital camera in which I can film quick 15 second videos. They are filmed as a
".MOV" file. How can I get this to play on Angelfire site?? Do I need to convert? How do I convert?
(I try to post it in a page just like I post images..but it wont work).

So, what's the deal with the so-called on going error that Angelfire has with banner ads?

Non-paying members who use CSS are just supposed to put up with these ridiculous ads displaying over their site content?

Anybody have any suggestions on how to overcome this problem? Any possible patches or compromises to get their ads off my text?

I've just been updating my website and finally got around to uploading a front page site. However, (and this happened with my previous site too) i can't upload any changes to it now, or write over the existing changes - it says access is forbidden, or something to do with the server.

Any suggestions?

Ie: when navigating within the site the page transition effects seem to work ok. They dont work when I open any page through the favourites menu or when typing my adress in the adress bar. HELP! Every time I visit my web page, it is the same old posts. I have scrolled through all of the highlighted post dates, I have not used all my space and I have posts that are NOT showing up. When I go to edit my blog, they are there. But, when I try to view them on the page they are not. What can I do? AND, there seems to be NO WAY to contact the owners of angelfire to get help.

Ok, I've got my website built, the pages are all linked to the index page (and actually work lol), guest book is in and working Wooohoo for me, right? Now, the question...

How do I put "previous" and "next" links at the bottom of each page so the viewer doesn't have to go back to the main page each time. Not really a big deal, but it's seriously running up my counter... at last count, my site got like 100 hits in one day and I know that isn't right lol

I used the basic editor, template 1 for photos to do the pages (without a links option) because it had more photo slots than the second one (with links option)for a photo album. Is there a way around this or will I need to go back and edit it all, changing everything over to gain a link at the bottom but lose photo space?
