Help!! Website not working
Mood:  sad
Topic: News
Please help!! I am trying to post pics of my newborn daughter and she is only 2 days old. . . .I have the Argon service and angelfire customer support will not respond to me for almost a day now. I pay for this every month, and I tried to update my credit card and it locked me out and will not accept any more cards, even though they are good and work at other places. Please help with suggestions or anything else you may be able to do. It looks like angelfire has downgraded me to a free account and is going to start deleting files to get down to 20 MB!!! HELP please email me at iflyabeech@aol.com with any suggestions iflyabeech@aol.com www.saritaandkel.com www.angelfire.com/tx/pilot69

Angelfire Webmail - New Feature - BETA
Topic: News
The Angelfire team is getting ready to release a new WebMail feature for all members with the "Argon" plan or better. (That is, all plans that come with a domain name.) Although not ready to be announced to the general public yet, it was decided to announce the feature to the Club members first, to get user feedback and to get some more real users on the feature. (This feature is also available to Tripod members with domains and anyone who purchased a stand-alone domain from Lycos Domains. You might even notice that I just cut-n-pasted this whole spiel from the Tripod Club because I am lazy.)

The new feature is a web interface to email, which includes sending outgoing mail which neither Angelfire nor Tripod has supported up to this point. It is similar to, but different than, "Lycos Mail" (mail.lycos.com). It is useful when accessing your email from a computer that is not your own. It can use the same mailbox as one you have configured with Microsoft Outlook or another email program, so you should be able to move between the this and a separate mail program without losing any messages.

If you are interested in trying the beta, you can go to http://webmail.domains.lycos.com. You will see a login and password window. You should login with the email account you want to check, and its password, and *NOT* your Tripod account name. (For example, if you own mycooldomain.com and your email address is 'fred@mycooldomain.com', that would be your login name. The password is the same password you would enter in your email program to read the account.)

If you want to create additional email addresses for playing with, you can do so via your normal "My Account" page. (On the domain tab, when you select into your domain.) At some point in the recent past, we silently increased the number of email addresses most users could have and how much disk space, so you probably should not have trouble creating email addresses to test with, if you don't want to use your own.

The system is not exactly how it will be when completed and there still may be bugs. Please report any problems you see in this thread and the Angelfire team will look into it.

LOST IN CYBER SPACE!!!! HELP
Mood:  irritated
Its been months now and i was hoping to some how ressurect my lost web site, (and its pages and pages of writing, most of which was saved directly on the site!) and nothing seems to be left. Does ANYONE know how to find my lost stuff.

https://www.angelfire.com/journal/itsquiethere

that was my website, but there isnt anything left.

I had it for years and just kept adding to it. It was nice, it had photo links and was set up with frames and everything. I didnt mess with it for about 6 months and when i went to add something to it EVERYTHING was gone.

And thats rediculous because I did a search for a friends old band website from 99 and i know he hasnt touched it since then. and it was also a web based server, i think it actually was angelfire. but the point is, his survived and mine didnt.

WHERE IS MY STUFF?????

Oops! We can only accept forms that come from a Angelfire URL. Sorry
Topic: HTML Questions
I am getting this message when using my form.

Oops!
We can only accept forms that come from a Angelfire URL. Sorry!

The script is correct.

My form does not work on my computer, but it works on other computers.

Also when I edit my form and click on my back button on my web browser. I get the following message.

Warning: Page has Expired
The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.

I am wondering if they are related?

Is there something wrong with my setting.

How do I fix this problem?

Search function not working
Topic: HTML Questions
Anyone else having a problem with the search function on their site not working?
I can enter a search for a word that I know is there, but the returned results are just a vacant line.
Appreciate any suggestions. I haven't altered any code on my site, so maybe the fault is at the Angelfire end. (I've emailed them, but had no response as yet)
Geo.

Hit Counter and Forum Broken
Mood:  down
Topic: FrontPage
I have uploaded a web created with Front Page because this place says they have the Server Extensions. I have a hit counter on my home page and a forum on antoher page. When I uploaded my web, I got the error message that the home page and the forum page would not work properly. I uploaded them anyway. My hit counter was missing and the forum didn't work. While viewing help, I noticed that you have to enable your site for the Front Page extensions. I did that. Then, the hit counter appeared and said I was visitor number 1...OK. The forum still didn't work. I have tried many things and have now noted that the hit counter is stuck on "1" and the forum still doesn't work. Any ideas on how to REALLY ENABLE a FronPage site?

Site Maintenance
Angelfire is currently doing site maintenance on the backend components which support "webstats" and some of other reporting bits. You may notice odd behavior or statistics not being up to date today. No data will be lost, but this may continue for a couple of days until the upgrade is complete.

As an aside, Angelfire also released fixes yesterday for ad placament problems on some sites. If you have a site where the "bottom" ad does not show on the bottom, or if there are any new problems, please respond here.

monster.com banner ad
Mood:  irritated
one of the monster.com banner ads at the bottom of the page uses flash player, and EVERY TIME it comes up, it freezes the page and an error message comes up saying "a script in this movie is causing the flash player to run slowly. if it continues to run, it will make your computer unresponsive. do you wish to abort the script?" this is happening EVERY TIME this one particular ad comes up, no matter what computer i'm using. is something wrong with the coding for the ad? can it be fixed? if so, please fix it. and please don't tell me to use another browser, that is not an option.
