Topic: HTML Questions
Hello! I need help. I am using Dreamweaver to communicate with Angelfire and i am stuck. I was able to set up the ftp in d.weaver and send the file to the webshell in angelfire. the splash and index pages show up but i am confused as how to make my links work that i created in d. weaver, work in angelfire (the link from splash to index works, but none of the others) i do not know how to write html, is there a way to communicate with angelfire without knowing how? How can i flip through the four pages i made/linked in d.weaver in angelfire??? help!

Thanks! -AK

p.s. links were set up correctly in d. weaver, they work fine there.

the address of the page is wrong right now you have it this way
/index.html

suppose to be just

index.html

delete the slash before the addresses

your images also are not showing because they are pointing to your hard drive you the only one to see them right now the address look like this

file:///C|/mysite/images/candle.jpg

suppose to be just

images/candle.jpg

your pictures are in the web shell directory name images,

this is how the html should look to point to them:
https://www.angelfire.com/hi5/djakasha/images/space2.jpg

right now they are all pointing to the pictures on you c:\\documents folder files.....

when you insert a picture with dreamweaver use the insert picture from file and then browse and find the folder where the pictures are, and insert it that way..... it looks like your inserting your pictures wrong when your editing, your using the c:\\ path to them, that's why the html is pointing to them that way.......
-------------------
your page linking is not correct either, you are not using the the correct path, your pointing them to angelfire.com/ and not to your directory.....

here is the link to you interview page:

here is your workhistory page

I don't use DW but from what you describe I'd say your site was not set up correctly or you are not opening DW first before editting. DW is a site manager so it must be opened and all pages opened, editted, etc *through* DW or DW will not be able to correctly writew the file paths needed for files once uploaded. This holds true for other site managers similar to DW (frontpage, adobe golive etc.) IOW you probably can't just click to open a DW page file on your pc and then do your editting/building. You need to actually open DW first and then select the page you want to edit.

You must also import all files used for the site (like images, sounds, etc.) into the site folder set up by DW- if set up correctly DW should automatically put the files in subfolders for you. But first you must set up the site correctly- see link above

hope that helps
