Sorry for the multiple me-only comments...but this is the first full free day I've had to work on this. Just logging my actions and attempts.
Went back and tried some of the various methods of suggested at my original post (thank you!). I didn't want to try using the Angelfire-specific web building tool--the whole point of this exercise was to use ftp.
It appears I can't. Either due to my ignorance--or the fact that I have a free account. So, I opened up the file to Edit, and pasted my original html into the document.
So, now the file has my Head section with css, then the body, Angelfire script inserted again, then my html.
It still won't read my .gif. Must figure out in what directory it looks for images. And just had an idea....
....Yup. No picture. When I open up my gif file to view, nothing there.
So, NOTHING transferred via ftp. I don't understand. It has the name of the gif file, (and yes, .gif file name), but no picture. I open up the file in webshell...
....and it give me the blank format for a html document. Apparently, Angelfire's Webshell does not expect me to load pictures?
Back to argh.
