HTML GEAR Guestbooks

I post a daily message on my HTML Gear Guestbook. and I've noticed in the past week or so, the security code seems to be malfunctioning. It takes two or three times (refreshes) before it accepts a typed code. I keep getting the  Lycos Error Page. Anybody else having this problem?

I deleted the test post, but the problem still remains. I had to refresh to get a new code, before it would accept my typed code

login then do the posting, this way you don't need the code.

Hi Dalleh,

I received a response from Lycos Help, re my ticket, and they said
something like 'the problem did not reproduce itself' for them.

In other words, the intermittent nature of the issue is going to be difficult to solve.

BTW, I logged in, and the code still comes up....but, how does that help any visitor who may wish to post?

Hi,

I got the same answer, they said your book is fine, my book needed fix and they fixed it. LOL. my book is one of the oldest  on the net changed too many names the last one so far is html gear.

are you using firefox or IE. try to clear the cache maybe it helps.

Am using firefox. I don't think it's a browser issue, because it is something that has cropped up recently and I've changed nothing on my end.

It happened again today. I was compelled to refresh the page once, before the server would accept my typed code.

I can live with that, of course, but any visitor who wishes to post a message and gets the Lycos Error Page, when they can see with their own eyes, that they have typod the correct code, won't bother to try again.
