Mood:  a-ok
Is there a code i can use to make my topics appear as newest to oldest, instead of alphabetical?

not unless you include month and date as numbers (ie 01/23/07) first in the topic "name". Numbers usually come first in an alphabeic list. But- you already have the blog calendar to retrieve the latest entries by date so arranging the topics by date seems redundant to me.
