spam has nothing to do with it, it is your e-mail address on the page that may cause it, there are programs spider the web collecting e-mail addresses for spamers.

Thanks for the info. I checked a couple of other AF sites and they have the same problem. Angelfire's live help has been offline for the last couple days, so I hope they're aware of the problem.

I don't think it's the email address, because it doesn't get as much spam as the guest book, and it's been there since the site started years ago.

O i thought the e-mail, the guestbook spam is normal, welcome to the club, what they do is they search for guestbooks in SE and they start pasting. notthing can be done about it so far, you are not the only one. click on the next oage button

Thanks, Dalleh - evidently Angelfire fixed the counter problem.

Yeah the spam on html gear is getting really bad - several posts a day - I just delete 'em.
