Extra files?

I have noticed in my file management folder files I have not made and I was wondering if I can just delete them or are they necessary to keep. For example these folders were added:
/_private
/_vti_bin
/_vti_cnf
/_vti_pvt
/_vti_txt

They are folders needed for FrontPage and are automatically added to newer accounts. If you don't use FP then you can delete them. Or leave them there. They won't hurt anything and if empty, take up no disk space.
