oh my gosh Lisa...we must be on the same brain wave, here...lol....
I was just working out a marque for your hompage and when I went to your site I see you updated your future plans page with a marque...lol
Isn't that something!

I wanted to show you a test page I did with your colors and home page because you metioned background, well this will give you an idea of something you could do with the colors I pulled from a banner there I made. this is my free site url so it has banners and ad's :(

https://www.angelfire.com/mi2/magoosplace/test/album_lisa_home5.html

I made the banner from this site
http://cooltext.com/

it's fun to play around with different ones there and it's a freesite....I saved the banner in the .gif format.....but you can choose .jpg there also....I don't use the .png formats.....

a couple of things, that marque your using, the picture files and the size of your pictures are quite large....

on my test page, I optimized your images to thumbnail size and the file is much smaller for loading, only 4kb and not in the 60 and 90kb's like yours. if the file is to large like you have, it makes the page heavy and slower loading, for those on modem dial-up modem connections plus that long marque script your using has to load also...

I also noticed that most of your pages you are using the head > and body > tags in places you don't need them....

on my test page I took the extra ones out.
It looks like you used two differnet ways to edit and left those tags there in places they don't have to be.....

if you 'View the source' code of my test page you will see the marque script that I used....if you think you might want to use that one,
and the script is much smaller then yours.....

I can post just the script here if you like...let me know....

Your site is very nice and it will be nice to share all those pictures with your family and friends, and oh your blog is good also thank you for mentioning dalleh and mamagoo there!....
my daughter's name is Lisa, Lisa K. in fact....lol

keep up the good work...

Aloha again Lisa,
I am glad you liked the banner but you could go to that site, and make your own and try different things.

If you like the banner I made just right/click on the banner and choose to save it to a folder on your computer
then upload to your account when editing your page put it in the header area as an image instead of the text that you have there now......
as for the thumnails of your pictures I have in the marquee right/click on each one and save them to your computer....

here is the script for the picture marquee, there is no text on this onelike I show on the test page, this is just the pictures in this script. You really don't need the text in it anyway.......

<marquee scrollamount="2"scrolldelay="35">
<BR>
<img src="tn_crc.jpg">
<BR>
<img src="tn_keywest1.jpg">
<BR>
<img src="tn_Savannah_s_Riverfront.jpg">
<BR>
<img src="tn_mc4.jpg">
<BR>
</marquee>

to make pictures smaller you need a graphics editor to shrink them to size...

if you have a windows computer you can go to MSPaint (Paint) and open a picture file or drag the picture file into paint from the folder it's in.

In the Paint application menu choose' Image' and then choose 'stretch/skew' option, then change the horizontal and vertical to a percentage that you want such as 50 in both of those areas or such as 40 or 30, the lower the number the smaller the picture becomes.....it would all depend on how large the original pictures is as to the percetage you would want to go....keep playing with percentage until the picture is about a 2x3 or smaller for a thumbnail size save your file as another name but save it as a .jpg image tn_mypic.jpg or something like that....

so just mess with the horizonital and vertical numbers don't worry about the other thing there...ok

cheers to you, Lisa, hope all goes well...
post back if you need help. I can do the thumbnail pictures for you, if you like, but you should learn how to do it.....

Lisa I see that you made your picture marquee. You did very well with the text under it like that..

but my dear your picture files are way to large of a file size!...you will have to get the size of your files down with the method I explained above...
I can do them for you if you like...
your page will take to long to load on modem connections..many people still use dial-up connections

if you are on high speed broadband then your page will load ok but for that many photo's loading in that marquee the files should be much smaller.

one of your photo's is 94,000 byte file, when it would look just as good as one that is only 4,000 bytes in the small area....
I will do a marquee with those pictures for you and show you okay? so check back, I will post it when I get it done...

Hello,
well here is what I came up with. this is just the marquee and code and thumbnail photo's here:

http://4pkruger.com/WebFolder/marquee_simple3.html

Then I have a link on that page to 'Go to view' the marquee on that test page I did for you before...and also a link to some of your photo' s that I put in an angelfire photo album(check into the photo album builder, Lisa)it's a good way to show your pictures...

-------
I did this one

https://www.angelfire.com/mi2/magoosplace/test_page/

because I have a test Angelfire Photo album. I made some of your photo's smaller that were inserted on some of your web pages...you can go there and r/c and save the pictures to your computer then upload them to put on the web pages that you have them on.....if you like....those were huge pictures also and they will slow the loading of your web page......
your pictures are beautiful, but keep the large ones for viewing on your computer not for the web ok?

learn to optimize them to a smaller file size for web page use..ok? loading from a camera or a scanner usually is set to give those high resolution files which is nice for printing and viewing on your computer, only.

so make another set of smaller resolution ones for uploading to the web. Remember those large 80,000 bytes to 400,000 byte files will take up a lot of file space in your directory also, and not only that,if your on dial-up, it must take a long time to upload those large files....

Your page looks good with those colors. Your doing a good job with your site..!

I want to mention here that you have too much space above your banner in the header, !--MyInfo-- area, all of the <p> and the <br> can be removed notice on my test page how my header area loads at the top. take out the spaces you have on yours if you can...
unless of course that is the way you really want it, it's your site...lol

best of luck, Lisa

about the space
you need to move these tags to right below the body tag and before the table tag. now they look like this
<BODY BGCOLOR=#Eff6f7>
<P><TABLE BORDER=2 CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=5 WIDTH=100% HEIGHT="100%"><base font size="9">
<!--Header-->
<p> </p>
<center>
<img src="https://www.angelfire.com/fl5/lisalk00/cgi-bin/aloha.jpg">
</center>
<!-- end header-->

it need to look like this

<BODY BGCOLOR=#Eff6f7>
<!--Header-->
<p>
<center>
<img src="https://www.angelfire.com/fl5/lisalk00/cgi-bin/aloha.jpg">
<center>
<!-- end header-->
<P><TABLE BORDER=2 CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=5 WIDTH=100% HEIGHT="100%"><base font size="9">

do that then we can work on the rest of the page. it looks like you know some html which is good, you can work on the page using the advance editor.
