What's your current domain setting and what do you want to change it to? If it's set to your main directory (default) it will look like this-

https://www.angelfire.com/blues2/nutmeg970/

If you want to change that to forward somewhere else at your account then the new site would need to be in it's own subdirectory and contain it's own index.html page. Domain names are pointed to directories, not specific pages. So say the new site is in a subdirectory called 'gifts'. You would use the directory named 'gifts' and point your domain name here:

https://www.angelfire.com/blues2/nutmeg970/gifts/

Link to AF domain help is above.

Hope that makes sense

Hello! Yes currently it is angelfire.com/.....I want it to be my domain IndigoShoppe.com ~ I have tried to put in index.html but that didn't work ~ so do you mean I first have to put my shoppe into a new subdirectory called (whatever)and forward it there?? Thanks so much for helping me!!

I don't think you should change anything. It looks like it's set up the way it should be. Check the URL above. Is that the site you want to assign to your domain name?

IndigoShoppe.com is currently pointed to your site at https://www.angelfire.com/blues2/nutmeg970/ Both URLs will bring up the same page. Don't let domain names confuse you. They are just an alias or second way of reaching your AF pages. A fake URL so to speak. The AF address is the "real" address because that's where the site is hosted. The domain name just uses an easier to remember URL but both URLs will work and that's the way it's supposed to be.

Whatever you do you don't want to point your domain name to a specific page like index.html. Domain names are pointed to directories. In your case the main directory. From the domain name URL the index.html page in your main directory will be served by default.

hope that explains it.

Oh well gee whiz!!! That explains it!!! And it only took me a week to get it right!!!!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Sometimes the simplest things are the most confusing!!!! I wonder if you could tell me ~ what is a subdomain???? (probably another simple thing!!)

A subdomain is another site that can be reached from a slight variation of your domain name URL. The second site can be built in a separate subdirectory at your AF account or it can be hosted elsewhere. So say you want to create a special subsection of your product- maybe quilted pillows. You could create a new site (in a subdirectory) just for your pillows and assign it to a variation of your domain name like this http://quiltedpillows.indigoshoppe.com/. That's probably not the best example but that's how it works.

Be careful how you write your domain name. The one you left in the prevcious post is invalid and will not go to your site. It has a space in the name and is missing the.com. Write it as http://indigoshoppe.com/

Don't feel too bad about trying to figure out the domain name set up for a week. I can't think of anything more confusing to many people who ask for help on this blog.

Good luck with your site. You do some beautiful quilts :)
