Tagging (I think) my homepage
Topic: HTML Questions

Hi everyone,

I'm really new to this, but so far have been able to figure most of it out. The only problem is for some reason I can't find my website when I use a search engine. I read something in the help section that briefly mentions tagging your website. Is this the problem? I noticed when I enter the name with no spaces links to some of the stories will come up but not the homepage. I was also wondering can I still continue to edit the page after it's searchable? I know you probably can. How else would someone add something new to their sight, but I just wanted to double check. If anyone could help me I would be very thankful. Have a great night everyone.

Hi,

When you google "Siberian's Haven" your homepage comes up right away.

To answer your question, you may update your site as much as you wish, without having any effect on the search engine listings.

Hi

It is not easy getting noticed by the search engines.  Go to the home page of Google, Yahoo, Dogpile, AltaVista, and whatever other search engines you want, and look all over their home page, especially at the bottom, and try to find where it says something like - "submit a site".  It might be very small type.  Then just follow their instructions to submit information.

I believe they are more likely to take you seriously if you have your own domain name ,and not an angelfire.com/mywebsite free address, although I got my website noticed back when it was free, and now I can't shake that earlier free address even though I switched to a paid domain name. Oh, well.

You can also improve your chances by getting other websites that do get listed in searches, to put links to your site on their website.

I believe that some search engines have something like web crawlers that troll the internet going down links and finding pages they judge if they want to include.
