Why am I having trouble loading the website?
Topic: HTML Questions
I have a website which I've been able to edit, add information, and logon to many times. Recently, after editing, and previewing, the website will not open when the web address is clicked on. The preview is perfect but when I try to bring the website up on the Internet it just opens to the green background. I'm on a Mac but that shouldn't change anything. The web address is http://icc-baltimore.angelfire.com. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hey, I just checked your site and looks like it's working to me.  Something about international coastal cleanup, and I see some photos in the body of the page. I use a PC so maybe there's something you didn't put in the html that mac requires? Not sure, but anyone with a PC should see it ok.

Thanks for checking. This is really weeird. I looked on the other Mac that we have (iMac 17") G4 and it comes up OK. I still can't get it to completely load on my iBook 12". When I go to the webshell and check on "Preview" it shows up perfectly but when I try to load the website address all I get is a green background. Well as long as others can view it I guess its not a total loss.

It loaded fine with me, I am not sure, try to take the map off and see if it is the cause of it.

Your probably not giving it time to load.  your photo's are quite large in file size. Are you using Safari or some other type of browser on the ibook?  Is there a capability or rendring setting on the browser your using?

Could you be using a safari browser on one Mac and another browser on the other? Safari does not like the AF ad coding at least here on my Mac. Removing it makes the page display. It displays fine with or without the code in Firefox. You may need to contact support to have that corrected if possible

PS- validate your html, you're missing some structural tags like <head> </head>. Some tag pairs are out of order and especially where you use <big> <b> and <center> There is also a typo/editing error where Location is written as </location

I am having the exact same problem as the other guy using MAC. I can edit and preview my webpage and then if I go back to see it, it will not load. If I type in the http://information, it too will not load.

One time last week, everything worked beautifully so I'm wondering if it's an issue Angelfire is having or I'm having since I'm using a MAC. Please , I need someone's help...otherwise, I'm going to delete everything and find a new place for creating a webpage.

did you read the response just before your posting? What browser are you using???? Do you have a free or paid account? Have you tried another browser?

I am using my Time Warner Roadrunner browser thru Safari on my mac. I did read all the previous responses above but they didn't seem to help me. No, I have not tried another browser.

I just went back and entered my homepage on my browser and this time it WORKED! Perhaps angelfire was experiencing problems.
