LOL I don't have to think. I know it won't having done it many times over at my tripod test blogs. Set up a test blog yourself with a few entries, then change the template.
One caveat- if you did any advanced customization on the original template it may hide some template changes. If something doesn't show up (like a panel BG or image) after you change the template, make sure to delete those original edits from the advanced customization template.
