yes it disappears for me too until I highlight it. here is what I think is causing it (the quotes after jpg should not be there.

I really can't see what the problem would be....
your picture shows and not the text, then after I highlight the area the text is, it shows up and stays....that is weird you are right...LOL

funny thing it works okay in Netscape browser but not IE.

I copied and pasted your source code for that entry to my test blog and it works fine.

and re-enter the code I have here: copy it from here and paste it to Notepad or an HTML editor if you can, and then copy it from notepad or an editor and paste it to your blog entry in place of what you have for that entry....

Here's the icon. I tried posting it before there's something wrong with this thing. It says it'll post gif's and jpg's. When I post them, the text from my whole entry disappears.

you could try placing the picture as align="top" and see if that works....

Holli- Looks fine to me in both IE and Netscape Mac browsers so it's hard for me to tell you what's going on. Your code looks OK, too. You could try setting height and width parameters in the image code. That might help as it will tell your browser how much space to lay out for the image before it loads.

Whats even more funnier cw an magoo I used Angelfire's uploading I didnt just put that it in there. I can see it when I post a comment or go to post a comment but I can't see it other than that.

It's a gif and jpg they always are. I think I might be outdated

What I did was, I took your entire code and and built a freform test blog with it and guess what? that code from your blog is doing the same thing on my test one....
so it must be in your template code or something.....

did you mess with advance customization or anything Holli?
or did you change blog settings for font size or anything?

adding the width and height did not help like doodle suggested
the only thing I found that works is, if you align the picture top" instead of left.....

Holli create another blog for testing and try that procedure and see what happens
you may have to change to a new blog.....

You are a sweet person, holli, and I hope that you can get this worked out.....

I'll be sure to do that tonight.
I added a few images to the left on the menu. But it was doing this BEFORE I added the images on the left side. However, I'll try the test blog to see.
Either way it's just crazy though. I never messed with the fonts or stuff like that. I just put images on the left hand side cuz Mike said it was ok to do so. Thanks tons! Hugs all around!

Yesterday I went into the advanced customization of my blog to delete the images that I had. And after I did so, I published it. But they are still there. I added two blinkies to my left menu and then last night after all this havoc I deleted them. I'm now on another computer and I see that they are still there. Not only that, my whole last entry has disappeared again untill you highlight it. I'm not doing anything different. Why am I having such issues with this journal? I created yet another one just to start fresh. But how come I can't add anything to it without my whole entry disappearing?

try this, in your browser
go to Tools, Internet options, click Accessiblitiy, make sure to uncheck all the boxes, in formating. click ok to come out of it. then try to go to the blog.

Holli "You Are doing all your edting from the blog control panel right?" that is the only way it will work, you can't edit your blog from the web shell like a regular html page edit.....that won't work....

your blinkie gifs are still there because you did not delete them
your blinkies are being romotely loaded from your photobucket album site

you have to remove it from there, save and publish

if you want pictures deleted from your directory you will have to do that in the web shell

but I see that you remote load most of your pictures from Photobucket....you might try to bringing those pictures to your web shell using the Transloader- Copy images from anywhere on the Web into your member directory method it's at the option is at bottom of the web shell page

as for the other pictures you would have to edit the entry and remove the <img src form there

there is something wrong with that blogs source code:
because the page you had up the other day I copied the code and uploaded it to my direcotry and when that first picture of the most recent post is inserted left aligned, the text does that disappearing act until it's highlighted.

Now if I do that on my own blog it does not do that so that leads back to the source code that is in your blog because as you see the one I have now is your source code and it's doing the same thing....

being it's not doing it on netscape browsers it may be a conflict with our windows computer and the IE browser, although I have not run into that on any other site....at least I have not been aware of it ....LOL

because my accessability options are unchecked and that is not it.....

I think Holli might be editing form the web shell. and it messed up the source code so it has this conflict with IE browsers....

dalleh, this is weird I just noticed when the IE window is restored down to a smaller window, that dellema of the disappearing text does not do that....LOL
as soon as I restore it to full window it disappears again.....
so it could be a <span> conflict or a table issue in that source code of holli's...

I know nothing of fixing that except creating a new blog and starting over.... or just figure that you can't insert a picture aligned left in your newest entry, Holli.....LOL

Holli you do not have a link to your blog from your Homepage I was just curious maybe that is way you want it...

Well I deleted the second tested blog yesterday.

When customizing the blog as stated before, I went into advanced customization.

This week I took out all of my images that I posted on the left side of the menu.

I decided all this grief isnt worth it. If it still messes up then I'm just going to delete and restart once I get home. I am out of town right now. This is so crazy. It's not really worth this agravation.

Mike said I could post images on the menu. I did and thats what happened. I did it through advanced customizing. Thanks for all your help :)
