HELP! I cab't find a way to edit my existing content
Mood:  d'oh
Hi everyone.  I have had an agnelfire account since 1996 and have just kept it updated a few of times a year each year since then, up until last year, where I kind of let everything slide.  My website still looks just as I left it when I just type in the URL to get there, but when I try to log into angelfire, it tells me how much space my website is using out of my allotment (which looks accurate in the usage department), but I can't find the "in-door" to go in and edit any of my extant information.  It tells me my website isn't published and gives me a blank starter page for the new style webpage.  How do I go in and edit my "same old page" that I am used to and that everything is already organized on?  Right now, I don't have the time or inclination to totally redo everything I already had in place.

Have you tried editing your HTML files through FTP (File Transfer Protocol)?

It's not so much that it won't let me edit anything... it actually won't let me into the "editable" part of the website... what they used to call the "webshell"

That's why I suggested using a FTP client. You would edit your html files and then upload them via FTP, bypassing altogether the webshell...

The problem with that, is that I already have a multi-page website that I don't want (nor do I have the time) to rebuild entirely... I just want to update some stuff and add a few pictures.

You can do all those things, using an FTP Client....unless you are still using the basic editor???

Yep, I was still using the basic editor... from Angelfire - PreLycos days.

And I have no clue what an FTP client is.  I know little to nothing about programming anything, which was why I had kept using the basic editor... I had figured that one out and didn't have the time to learn the newer stuff.
