Dynamic RSS headlins from your blogs
Mood:  energetic
Topic: CGI scripts
Anyone know of a cgi script that will post headlines from your blog onto your homepage? Just the first paragraph of a new blog post is really what I'm looking for. You can see an example of what I'm talking about if you ever use My MSN or My Yahoo to subscribe to RSS feeds. When you subscribe to a feed, it will show you the newest headlines from those feeds with a link to read the full story or post. I would like to have headlines of all my own Angelfire blog feeds show up on my homepage and update dynamicly the same way they do on My MSN or MY Yahoo. Thanks in advance

The only way I know of to do that is to find a host to feed you the feed like the one at the link above. Use the javascript format and copy the script generated for you and insert it into your page code. This particular server feeds more than a headline but may work for you. There are other servers like it out there if you search. Some charge for the service.

I tried those but I really want to stay away from javascript or outside links where possible, especially in my main pages content. I was thinking, and in the process of trying to figgure this out now, that there may be a way to export an rss by calling it with a cgi script that would work in a simmular fashion to the Angelfire random content script, only the text files would be saved dynamicly through calling the newest from an rss feed wich could then be written to any html page using "get virtual". If anyone knows what I'm onto here or if this clicks for anyone please let me know. If I figgure it out I'll post back with the sollution....should be pretty cool :)
