If you don't have an image editor, here is a simple FREE
one, that I have been succesfully using for a few years:

Concerning Previous Posting:

Please be advised that the URL:
http://carlosacive.free.fr/imagoWEB/imagoWEB.exe
mentioned in the foregoing message was simply
found on Google.com by searching Imagoweb.exe

In other words, I am [in no way] offering any
recommendation for the above website. However,
it looks Ok to me, I think it's being run by a
techie in la belle France.

The original developer, Fabrizio Pignotti, who created Imagoweb several years ago, is no longer offering it online; although there are copies of imagoweb.exe available at various locations, including the above-mentioned.

You can read a serious, abeit brief, review of the Imagoweb software here:

My platform is Win 98, and there is no Paintbrush option
to save images in any other format than BMP.

Unless the newer versions of Windows Paintbrush
feature 'format conversion' options, I don't see
how it would be possible to 'save' a bitmap image
as a JPG, without 'crunching it' into that file type.

I think that one must have an image editor.
In the early days of Angelfire, one could upload
a BMP file, and it would be automatically converted
into a 'medium-crunched' JPG. That was great!

From what I can gather, the folks at Angelfire
encourage members to increase their website skills,
including the creation and manipulation of images.

So, it is understandable, that we were 'weened' from
the automatic bitmap conversion tool.

For the same reason, members are encouraged to
'take the plunge', and start using the Advanced
Editor, as soon as possible.

As Dalleh explained, in a previous posting,
the HTML code can be copied from the Source document,
the Angelfire Advertising Codes eliminated, and
saved as an HTML file.

Then, we can examine the codes, and duplicate what we wish.
The whole project of website-building becomes ever-so-much more enjoyable and rewarding, when we can discover the mystery behind it.

After editing our HTML file, we simply upload the file, or copy and paste the text into the Advanced HTML Editor box.

you will get the format in paint if you install any image edtior or scanner software or anything like that, such as the free irfanview..
irfanview.com it's a great image edtior to have on hand anyway.....for optimizing and converting...images

i do most of my graphic optimizing and covversons using MSPaint even with win98....lol

Paint only comes with .bmp but once another application is installed with other formats such as jpeg Paint will begin recognize those formats....

Mamagoo, your input is always appreciated.
I do most of my [initial] work in paintbrush. It is an
amazing program.
But then, I hop into my Imagoweb program, and adjust the
image for web presentation.
